Part of the damage was to his throat causing him to have thickened liquids. We used the powder in the hospital but it continued to thicken if he didn't drink things fast enough. Our speech pathologist recommended the gel and I purchased it. It was amazing! He said it wasn't nasty tasting like the powder and I loved the fact that I could add it to anything and it wouldn't thicken over time. It blends easily, especially when I use my hand mixer which is super fast. We also use the thickener in individual packages which blends well when we eat out and blend it using a fork. It works with all liquids hot or cold and for those of you who enjoy a beer now and then will blend with it as long as you stir it with a fork. It doesn't blend well using a spoon. I don't think it's the fault of the thickener as I imagine they all need a fork to blend them. I usually order by phone and have them delivered to the house within a week. The folks at SimplyThick are very helpful and quick. I pass the word on to anyone who may want to use the product.

The best part of using this thickener is it does not solidify if you don't drink it immediately. You can mix things in bulk and not worry. It has no taste and is so simple to use. I take it with us when we eat out and he is able to have a beer with his dinner and his once a week Manhattan. I also mix it into a pint of ice cream. Can't say enough about this product.

Well all I can say is I drink thickened liquids all the time. Not by choice and SimplyThick is hands down the best. No flavor. Doesn't get thicker. Very easy to use. The others are crap and I have tried all of them except Milani brand. Don't waste your money. I have thrown away packages of thickener it was so horrible.
